IBM and Research In Motion announced new tools for smartphones Monday. The companies are making available new social-networking apps for the BlackBerry because, they said, customers are clamoring for them.
Specifically, IBM and RIM are offering the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr and a new version of the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Connections. The new social-software offerings are on display this week at the 17th annual Lotusphere conference in Orlando.

Buckhead Midtown Office Suites bills itself as Atlanta’s top choice for affordable executive office suites. The tagline caught my attention, so I decided to check it out.
One of the first things I noticed is that the serviced office provider is offering free rent. “Free” always gets your attention, doesn’t it? Buckhead Midtown Office Suites doesn’t explain anywhere on its Web site how you get that free rent, how long it lasts, or any other details. But it is enough to cause me to dive a little deeper and see what else they have to offer.
