Cisco Brings Technology To New Yankee Stadium

November 14th, 2008

Cisco Systems is going out to the ball game — with technology. The company announced Tuesday that the new Yankee Stadium, set to open in April, will give New York baseball fans the most wired, connected and video-enabled stadium in Major League Baseball.Cisco’s StadiumVision will become the centerpiece of the fans’ digital experience. The Yankees will integrate video, voice, data and wireless Relevant Products/Services services into a next-generation network that aims to connect the team to its fans in ways the early sluggers never imagined. For example, fans will be able to view sports news and scores, weather and traffic without missing a pitch.

“We chose Cisco as the network provider for the new Yankee Stadium because they understand our business needs, our future goals, and our vision for creating a unique experience that caters to our fans,” Yankees COO Lonn Trost said. “Cisco will help us capitalize on industry trends and transitions, such as the current migration from standard-definition to high-definition video in venues and at home, to give our fans the most state-of-the-art game-day experience in all of baseball for years to come.”
