MySpace, Mark Burnett Team on Political TV

MySpace is teaming up with reality TV producer Mark Burnett to launch a new political show that seeks the nation’s next great politician through a multimedia campaign expected to launch in early 2008.Dubbed “Independent,” the interactive television series aims to encourage and empower young Americans to participate in the political process. The show is a reality-based competition where America will decide on a candidate that best reflects the voice of young Americans.

“Through this new network television series and the partnership of MySpace, we’re going to discover in a big way, what America really thinks, and bring to light the issues that are closest to those who now finally have a chance to be heard,” Burnett, the mastermind behind hit reality series like Survivor and The Apprentice, said in a statement.

Vonage Gets Stay, Has No Workaround

Vonage is breathing a sigh of relief this week as courts gave it permission to continue business as usual despite Verizon Relevant Products/Services’s victory in a recently decided patent suit.On Tuesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington D.C. issued a permanent stay of a previous court’s injunction that would have barred Vonage from signing up new customers.
