Microsoft Set To Patch Animated Cursor Flaw Early
After skipping Patch Tuesday in March, Microsoft
plans to release an out-of-cycle patch on April 3 to fix a dangerous Windows animated cursor vulnerability that has the security world watching.”From our ongoing monitoring of the situation, we can say that over this weekend attacks against this vulnerability have increased somewhat. Additionally, we are aware of public disclosure of proof-of-concept code,” Christopher Budd, of the Microsoft Security Resource Center, wrote in the MSRC blog on Sunday night.
Although Microsoft plans to issue the patch on Tuesday, there are no guarantees. Budd said the security team is still testing the fix to ensure quality and hinted that the software giant might be forced to delay the release.
